Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide commissioning services for new and existing buildings.
• Review and optimize building control systems and performance.
• Interact with client staff, client principals, building construction management teams, and building construction trades.
• Develop commissioning plans, specifications, and design reviews for new and existing buildings.
• Review shop drawings and equipment submittals in parallel with the design team to ensure alignment with the design.
• Write detailed Functional Performance Test (FPT) procedures for the issue and submit them to the contractor.
• Conduct site visits during construction to observe the installation and operation of mechanical systems.
• Witness equipment startups, test/balance activities, and administer system functional performance testing
• Inspect and functionally test existing energy-consuming equipment and diagnose problems.
• Effectively lead commissioning team meetings.
• Develop clear and concise written reports that summarize the results of the commissioning process.

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or related field

• Interact with the client safety team, building construction management teams, and building construction trades.
• Develop company safety programs, training, and policies.
• Develop site-specific safety plans in accordance with the site’s and owner’s safety requirements.
• Participate in site commissioning and construction safety meetings.
• Develop clear and concise written reports for safety field visits, incidents, and general OSHA compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field
• Experience as a safety manager or consultant in construction or general industry.
• Strong understanding of OSHA 1926 Standards
• Knowledge of basic electrical safety and LOTO
• Ability to travel between out-of-state job sites as needed.
